Iligan Bloggers Society Rocks!

Finally, after months of finding bloggers in Iligan interested for meet up, THEY FOUND ME!

We had our first meet-up last May 19, 2011 at Jacko's Kan-anan.  My husband, Pat, and I arrived late.  The meeting has already started but somehow, we were in time for the introductions.   Most of the attendees are at their 20s and some are even younger.   I think only Pat, me and Arlene Collado (the 3 participants to the 4th Mindanao Bloggers Summit) are above 30 years old.

My first thought was,  "wow, we are so out-of-place".

So I observed.  And observed.   Then I thought, "they are still so young, could we pull hosting a summit through?"  Again, I observed.  And observed.

After a while, I felt good.  I felt excited.   I felt at home.

Yesterday, June 2, 2011, we had our 3rd meeting.   And the fun was still as good as the 1st and the 2nd.

The advantage of being around with people younger than you is that it makes you feel young.   They are silly.  They are carefree.  They are spontaneous.   They like adventures.  They like trips.  They enjoy life.

I underestimated their youngness.   After the 2nd and 3rd meeting, I realized that however carefree and spontaneous they are, they are already responsible adults.   They have carried through their tasks and delivered what's expected of them and more.   I realized that when people commit themselves to something they really want and enjoy, they'll give you their best.

I am happy and proud to be part of the Iligan Bloggers Society.   Looking forward to more get-togethers in the future.

  1. Hi revilla, cor here. I'm based in Lugait so I am geographically out of the loop. I'm glad you are coming in together. That's really interesting. Last year, or two years ago, I joined the Mindanao Bloggers Summit in CDO. I'm not sure if they had last year or if the group still exists. Maybe Iligan Bloggers Society can link to the Mindanao Bloggers and the Philippine Bloggers Association in the future. There are a number of them. Well just my 2 cents worth of unsolicited advice. I'm excited about your group and your effort of bringing them together. Goodluck! And Best Regards!
