It's Valentine's Day once again. And today is my 11th Valentine's Day with Pat. As I was listening to Anne Murray's greatest hits on Youtube last night, I chance upon the song "Nobody Loves Me Like You Do".
Listening to the lyrics of the song, I found myself relating to it. And made me wonder
What if I never met Pat?
Where would I be right now?
Hmmm....
I don't know.
All I know is "life falls in place somehow".
Our very first picture together in November 2003.
Taken during our very first out-of-town trip at Cagayan de Oro.
Last night, I was supposed to make a video compilation of our pictures with the song "Nobody Loves Me Like You Do" as background music. But I couldn't get to download the song. So, I opted to post here the actual video of Anne Murray and Dave Loggins singing the song.
After listening to Menudo greatest hits on Youtube about an hour ago, I checked the list for the next album I would like to play. Then, I saw Rick Springfield. I don't know him. But thought I'd give it a shot and listen to his songs. When I clicked the link, there was no description.
When the first few notes of the first song sounded, I literally shouted "AHHHHHHHHHHH!"
It has been the song I have been looking for for so many years now!
I met "him" (as I didn't know his name then), I think, when I was in grade 6 or early high school. My sister and I used to listen and watch his music video on TV. I can't remember what happened then, but our TV wouldn't show any regular shows from the TV station. It could be that was the time our antenna was damaged or the TV station couldn't get through locally. So, for a few months, we only get to watch music videos and some movies, repeatedly. That was the time I get to hear "him" and watched his videos repeatedly, hehehe
When the TV station regular shows came back, the music videos and movie replays disappeared. And I never saw it again, ever since. After some time, I forgot about it. And at times would wonder what are the title of those songs and who is the singer. I really liked the beat and the melody of the songs.
Then, I thought of searching it in Youtube. But how could I? When I don't know the title of the songs. I don't know the name of the singer. I can't remember a single song. All I remember are some scenes on the music videos and that the singer is so damn handsome! :-D
So, today, now, that I finally found him. I couldn't help but write about it. I am so excited, I sang and dance with some of the songs. I can't believe I still know some of the lyrics. And could still remember some scenes on the music videos as the song is playing. Oh yeah!
As I am writing this, I am still feeling the excitement as his songs are playing. I have close to 1 hour of Rick Springfield.
Below is the Youtube link I accidentally clicked. :-)
And found some of his videos I used to watch on TV. Yes!
I like his dimples here. :-D
My afternoon became a Rick Springfield day, hehehe..
It's wonderful meeting you again, Rick. :-)
PS. Rick is the same age with my father, born in 1949. :-D
Just tell me you love me Whisper words I so long to hear Let this time not be borrowed Let it be ours to share.....
Sounds familiar?
Yep. It's the song by John Ford Coley. He is one of the singers of the musical duo England Dan and John Ford Coley.
I love their songs. I bought one of their Greatest Hits cassette tapes when I was in college. Played it every weekend and eventually memorized all the songs in the collection as well as the order of the songs, hehehe...
Why am I telling this?
Well, last February 8, 2013.... Pat and I
WATCHED HIM PERFORM LIVE!!!!
Yes! You read it right. I have always dreamed of watching Air Supply live in concert but I never thought I'd get to also see my other favorite, John Ford Coley, live in concert.
It was really such a surprise and such an impromptu decision for Pat and I.
February 8 was a Friday and Pat and I were both in our respective offices. During lunchtime, I overheard my office mates talking and one of them about leaving for Cagayan de Oro after lunch because of a concert. They said, David Pomeranz will be having a show at 8pm. I told myself, "ah, too bad, I only knew about it now. I would have also wanted to go. But then it's already late for me." Then they said that David will also do a show on February 16, together with Kuh Ledesma in Tubod, Lanao del Norte. Hmmm... I said, that would be better. I have time to prepare.
After eating my lunch, I went to the computer to check on the information about the show. And sure enough, I found the poster for David Pomeranz's concert in Tubod. I texted Pat about it. And we kind of made some tentative plans.
BUT.
As I was browsing through the internet. I can't get my mind off David's concert in Cagayan de Oro. So, I searched for a poster. Then I saw one.
And what I saw in front of me literally froze me for a few seconds.
This is what appeared in my computer screen :
I couldn't explain what I felt then. I actually said (almost screaming) "John Ford Coley!!!" If I was at home, I would have probably jumped up and down with excitement. I was like a child given a toy she so long to have. My heart was beating fast. My mind got dizzy on what to do and what to say.
Then I texted Pat with trembling hands, hehehe... It was 1:45 in the afternoon. Made few text exchanges with Pat. Pat called. I called. We decided.
The last call I got from Pat was around 2:30pm. He was at home asking me "how many t-shirts, which shorts, how many undies, what else are needed to bring?" He was already packing an overnight bag for the both of us! :-D
Then he picked me up at the office before 4pm. We first met a friend to give her her refrigerator magnet order. And at exactly 5pm we were on our way to Cagayan de Oro. And I couldn't believe how I felt. I can't believe we actually did what we just did. It was really my first to have that kind of impromptu decision. And it felt great! :-)
Pat and me. All smiles. :-D
A photo opp during the concert. hehe..
Tomorrow is February 14. Valentine's Day. But the concert has become the Valentine Date for Pat and I. It couldn't be any better. :-)
Below is one of the videos I recorded during the concert. The song "Just Tell Me You Love Me".
Did you hear me singing along? Yep. That was me, singing (off tune, hehehe). Well, I can't help it. I am watching John Ford Coley's concert and I really had to sing along. :-D
Since England Dan already passed away in 2009, John gave a tribute to him by singing "Love is the Answer". I also recorded it in video. :-)
And then again, I sang along. :-D This time, I think my voice is louder than John Ford's and more out of tune. hehehe...
It has been more than a month since I wrote a post here. The excitement for my trip to Cambodia-Thailand with Pat and his family has kind of "disabled" me to add other posts for October. I told myself not to worry 'coz when I get back from the trip, I sure will have so much to write about. :-)
October 31 around 5pm. Pat and I were back in Iligan. Got busy with All Saints Day and All Souls Day. Got busy unpacking. Returned to work. Got some ideas on topics to blog about. But somehow. Just kinda got tired from the trip. So, nothing's working on my mind to be able to write even just one post. Tsk tsk tsk.
Until now.
However, tonight, I am not yet going to blog about "the trip". I am now listening to my music collection in the computer hard drive while uploading (finally, had the energy and the will to upload photos from the trip) some photos in Facebook. And a song from Jim Brickman caught my attention and thought I 'd just make a post of its lyrics and the music. And thought I'd post it in my blog right now while I am here in front of my computer, hehe... :-)
The song reminded me of Pat. The love we share. And most specially the love he gives me for more than 8 years now. :-D
Here's the lyrics to The Love I Found In You
With Pat at Le Fenix Hotel in Bangkok
You are the air I need to breathe
the river of life inside of me
you are the half that made me whole
you are the anchor of my soul
and you are strong when I am weak
you are the words when I can't speak
you never fail to see me through
that's the love I found in you
you are my shelter from the storm
you are the road that leads me home
and baby with you here face to face
Oh I know I've found my place
and you are strong when I am weak
you are the words when I can't speak
you never fail to see me through
that's the love I found in you
and once in every life
you find the one that's right
and when you say forever it's true
That's the love I found in you
You are strong when I am weak
you are the words when I can't speak
you never fail to see me through
That's the love I found in you
That's the love, love I found in you.
Dear Pat my gen, When we first became friends in 2003, I never thought I'd be spending the next years of my life with you.
From the start until now, you see me through. You always seemed to finish my sentences. You know what I want. You know what I need. You, most of the time, read my mind. Mura kag si Superman, hehehe...
You've made me become a better me. You always find ways to make my dreams come true. And I am happy that I am sharing my dreams with you. I won't spend it any other way. If I am to live my life again, I still would want to live it with you.
We seemed like soul mates, if there's such a thing, hehehe.... :-) That's the love Pat my gen, I found in you (when you found me!).
As Valentine's Day approaches, I took the time to prepare something for the love of my life, Pat. Since we started going out in 2004, we have made memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Below is a video I made from the pictures of us taken by us or by friends and relatives during our trips to places in Iligan City, around the Philippines (Camiguin, Valencia City, Malaybalay City, Cebu City, Panglao Island, Ozamis City, Tangub City, Zamboanga City, General Santos City, Davao, Marawi City, Bohol, Initao) and out of the country (Hongkong). These are just some of the pictures though, hehehe. :-)
The video has two background music. And I chose these songs for personal reasons.
Each Day With You by Martin Nievera. This song simply defines what I feel each day I am with Pat. Even when at times we are not physically together, we still seemed together and that is thanks to technology - the text, the call, the emails, the chats. :-)
All My Life by America. This song has always been one of my favorites even before I met Pat. I told myself this is gonna be a song for the man I am going to marry in the future. And yes! Without a doubt, all my life I will give to my one and only love, Pat. And he will only be my one and only love for all my life. :-)
Today is Valentine's Day once again. It's our 8th (year) Valentine's Day together. But it seems like so many years already with all the happy memories we created.
I love you Pat, my Gen. :-)
My life's journey has been so great with you. And I look forward to more Valentine's Day with you. :-)
I was browsing through my old emails for Pat looking for some pictures I sent him. Then, I came across one of my emails containing a lyrics to a song I sent him on July 27, 2006 while I was in Mannheim, Germany, to which I didn't know the title and the singer. I got the lyrics from listening over and over again to the song (a tape from a friend). And at that time I didn't know how to look for the title and the singer in the internet. I haven't thought of Google yet. :-)
As I loved the song so much then, and reading it a while ago, I got curious as to how it goes. So, I googled "i wanna wake up with you" and found many videos and lyrics site. The video link to YouTube below is the song "I Wanna Wake Up with You" by Boris Gardiner.
I wanna wake up with you
I wanna be there when you open your eyes
I want you to be the first thing that I see
I wanna wake up with you
I wanna lay by your side baby
I wanna feel every beat of your heart
And throughout the night, I wanna hold you tight
I wanna wake up with you
All the love inside me has been sleeping
Waiting till the right one came along
You can share the love that I've been keeping baby
You can put the music to my song
I wanna wake up with you
I wanna reach out and know that you're there
I want you to be the first thing that I see
I wanna wake up with you
Do-do-do-dooo, Do-doo-oo
Do-do-do-dooo, Do-do-do-doo
And throughout the night, I wanna hold you tight
I wanna wake up with you
All the love inside me has been sleeping
Waiting till the right one came along
You can share the love that I've been keeping
You can put the music to my song
I wamna wake up with you
I wanna reach out and know that you're there
I want you to be the first thing that I see
I wanna wake up with you
All the love inside me has been sleeping
Waiting till the right one came along
You can share the love that I've been keeping baby
You can put the music to my song
I wanna wake up with you
I wanna reach out and know (fade)
All the waiting for the right one to come along is already through as I have found the right one 8 years ago. It's already been 7 years since we exchanged "I dos" and till now I still want to wake up with you. I still want to lay by your side. I still want to feel the beat of your heart and hold you tight all through the night. We've both shared the love that we've been keeping and put music to each others song.
Thank you Pat for making me your "right one". Happy monthsary Pat, my gen. Love you for always.
